THE LECTURE "PRACTICAL DEMOCRACY: SPACE AND SOCIETY", UBERABA UNIVERSITY, BRAZIL
Presentation of the results of the workshop on the consolidation of Alfredo Freire neighborhood 1 closed the symposium. During the workshop students engaged in creating solutions of cohesion with landscape and architectural projects and video production, to tackle social and spatial exclusion in the process of peripherization in Uberaba, specifically the housing complex built in 1983, at the "edge" of the city, which is in the sixth phase of expansion.
The professionals participated in the symposium, reflected on enriching influences of the exchange of knowledge and experiences that come from different countries.
"The subject contains a lot of potential and a lot of problems. We bring people from different places together and this enriches the focus greatly. We are dealing with the problem from various angles and these various points of view and different profiles complement each other, thus bringing students a richer and more entertaining vision." David Juarez
"Although they are all related to architecture, practices, methodologies, ways of relating to the object and to the city may be different. So bringing guests from outside allows us a very important enlargement so that the students understand and stimulate new perspectives, possibilities, can articulate new fields of design and language and learn a little of the culture and history of the guests." Thiago Reis, professor of Architecture at Uberaba
