On June 26, we inhabited the Kabian prototype at the Peñascal Foundation in Bilbao to reflect together on architecture, urban planning, and youth, as part of Urbanbat Fest 2025.
We shared ideas, experiences, and insights with the people shaping this collective project:
David Juárez from Straddle3 and Gerardo Wadel from Societat Orgànica opened the discussion on design, sustainability, and participatory construction.
From the Peñascal Foundation, a cooperative that promotes social inclusion through vocational training for people in vulnerable situations.
María Arana Zubiate from Urbanbat provided context to the challenge of imagining more inclusive and shared spaces for young people in the city.
Kabian is not just a prototype: it is a living experiment in fairer and more sustainable ways of building and living together.
