revelation
"With "Revelation" as its theme, ISEA2000 will focus on new means of representation, and will explore the effects of the technological revolution on art and society : digital images, virtual realities, multimedia, interactive installations, networks etc. "ISEA 2000's purpose is to put into perspective the transformations undergone by different artistic disciplines (fine arts, theatre, music, film and video, architecture, design). It will attempt to understand how new information and communication technologies produce means of expression unique to the digital civilizations." From *ISEA2000, 10th International Symposium on Electronic Art* background "The series of symposia known as the International Symposium on Electronic Art was initiated in 1988 in order to support the founding and maintenance of an international network of organizations and individuals, active in the field of the electronic arts. "This network has taken the shape of an association, founded in 1990 in The Netherlands, called the Inter-Society for the Electronic Arts (ISEA). "The Inter-Society has been established to oversee the continuance of the symposia and each symposium promotes the aims and objectives of the Inter-Society: the event and the society are therefore mutually supportive." From *Guidelines for Symposium Host Candidates* isea - the inter-society for the electronic arts "ISEA is a non-profit international organization whose membership and collaborators consists of a wide range of individuals and institutions involved in the creative, theoretical and technological aspects of electronic arts. "The aim of ISEA is to establish and facilitate inter-disciplinary communication in the field of art, technology, science, education and industry." From *ISEA - The Inter-Society for the Electronic Arts* ISEA is based in Montreal (Canada) since 1996. Executive Director of the organization is the writer and new media editor Carlos Soldevila. |
