IDEAS OF A DANISH ARCHITECT

Last Monday, within the third year project course at School of Architecture of Barcelona, Cristina Jover proposed us a visit to Jorn Utzon´s house in Porto Petro. Relieing on the experience of such great explorator, we tottered behind her firm and steady steps. The feeling of drowsiness and sleepiness started to desapear with every new movement to give way to our gaze, wich started to desapear with every new movement to give way to our gaze, wich started sliding together with our guide´s look at the same rhythm of the images. Soon these images became music: the sound of the sea, the wind and the birds. The music could be heard at any corner of the house, it cheered our bodies and we started dancing between Marés´ walls - few of them cut back by the smile of a Chesire cat - surrounded by ceramics furniture, on the courtyard and even above the  pine  trees
All of a sudden, the music ceased playing and I, at the same as my gaze, stopped at thliving room. Feeling tired I discreetly sat down on one of the ceramics half-moon, with the solely companion of  few windows. Those windows no longer gathered the day´s light but, at least, they gently showed me landsacape. Only one of them was bearing the shadows that stained the room,m letting in a long and warm light. It was the end of the day, dusk.

The music is approaching, here they are, by my side, I´m no longer by myself.
It is said that Jorn Utzon opened this window facing west so that he could have twenty minutes. I listen to an echo, further and further away, repeting Cristina Jover´s words.

Natural light gives mood to space by the nuances of light in time of the day and the seasons of the year as it enters and modifies the space. Louis I. kahn.
